About My Journey
When I was a little girl, I imagined writing a book.
Twenty years after college, I was the head of motor vehicles in Pennsylvania, with hundreds of employees serving millions of customers.
I was in a great career, being of service, and my book stayed behind in childhood.
Until one day, I put pen to paper. Then, word by word, I knew I had to share my story with you.
I was soon ready to retire. My husband and I wanted to break ground on a house at the beach in Florida. And these two events became my new journey.
I learned something. Okay, I learned lots of things. But one of them was how fears threatened to overtake my move to the unknown—whether it was a retirement or a lifestyle change didn't matter.
My story intends to bring awareness and insight into your journey, even if fears threaten to take you off your path.
I can't wait to share this journey with you!
Welcome To My Joyous, Twisty Journey!
“This entire journey of transition has taken me into the unknown. What I didn't fully understand was the promise "I don't know" makes to me; a promise that if I trust to move forward into the unknown…I open space for all future possibilities to become known. I open space for something better than perhaps even I could have mustered.”
“My agenda was tested, instead, by the natural messiness of life. I was reminded that the universe decides the order and I decide how to play in its sandbox.”
The Joyous, Twisty Journey Blog
What is a joyous, twisty journey?
I am a rose-colored glasses, glass-half-full kind of person. And that is joyous. But, even I see the cloud in the silver lining. And for me, that's the twisty part.
It's the twisty part where life says, "How are you going to handle this?"
Building A Dream tells our story of breaking ground on a beach house, with all its twists and turns. But the journey goes on from there. In my blog, I will share more insights and happenings, the silver linings, and the twists.
I call our journey (yours and mine) joyous when we fulfill our calling. So, as I wrote the book, I called out the ups and downs. But I have decided to go from "down" to "twisty." That sounds a lot more fun to me.
And, let's face it, when a twisty challenge hits us, I want to remember to go up and not down. Going up in our thoughts gets us to better solutions faster (and I am all up for that).
